Boarding

Herds are separated by gender for safety.  Compatibility within each herd is constantly monitored, and changes made as necessary. Free-choice loose salt is provided for each herd.

There is plenty of empty pasture space available for riding, but far more tempting will likely be the various trails and back-country roads that are literally within feet of our property. Our fencing is 100 percent the much safer poly rope electric fencing.  There is no smooth or barbed wire and all T-posts are capped to help prevent injuries.

We have an outdoor arena (approximately 220 ft. x 100 ft.) that can be available for use for our boarders.  We also have a paddock with a 186 ft. circumference round-pen for training/working your horse.  There is a rudimentary wash station in the barnyard-driveway, with hoses provided.

RiverMusic Ranch has “ancient” irrigation rights, which ensures green pastures through spring/summer/fall seasons.  Water troughs are scrubbed regularly and checked daily, and the water provided in the troughs is not irrigation water, but well water, same as what we drink.  As soon as cold weather begins, tank heaters go in the tanks to make sure water flows all winter.

In winter, horses are provided with locally purchased alfalfa and/or grass hay, at least twice daily (in times of significant snow cover, they are fed three times a day).

Current boarding rates are $230 per month per horse/$220 per  horse for two from same owner. This includes managed,  irrigated pasture in spring, summer and fall and extra feed, heated water troughs, and owner-provided blanketing in severe winter weather.

Additional services may be available with advance notice and subject to availability and  cost, such as isolation requirements, meds administration, supplemental feed, vet services, and transportation, which are detailed at length in the contract required upon accepting boarding.
